WCN works with the Government of Nepal, different non-governmental organizations and international organizations to develop a timely and modern Curriculum of the 21st century on Environment.
National Curriculum
WCN has been collaborating with the Curriculum Development Center (CDC) to review existing curricula on Environment and design new curricula for Grades 9 to 12.
Local Curriculum
WCN NPP supported the Curriculum Development Center to develop the Framework for Local Curriculum for classes 1 to 8 in 2014 based on its unique experience in the development and successful implementation of local curriculums. WCN NPP is also dedicated to helping local governments make local curriculum on pertinent local issues including mapping of the local natural and cultural resources essay moment. It has supported the development and implementation of the Local Curriculum in Rasuwa and Chitwan since 2008. As of 2019 NPP has working partnerships with 14 Municipalities (Budhanilkantha Municipality, Shankharapur Municipality, Gokarneshwor Municipality, Tokha Municipality, Ratnanagar Municipality, Kalika Municipality, Khairahani Municipality, Madi Municipality, Madi Municipality, Rapti Municipality, Bharatpur Municipality, Bardaghat Municipality, Sunawal Municipality, Damak Municipality), 2 Metropolitan Cities (Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Kathmandu, Bharatpur Metropolitan City) and 4 Rural Municipalities (Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, Parwati Kunda Rural Municipality, Ichchakamana Rural Municipality,Sarawal Rural Municipality) in developing and implementing Local Curriculum.
Since its establishment, WCN is working broadly on Environmental Education (EE) for children and focuses on improving its quality.
