"Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN) Prem Conservation Grant" invites applications from students in their final year of MSc. of Environmental Science, Botany and Zoology supporting in completion of their thesis. The Research Grant focuses on encouraging young scientists who have potential to become leaders in their discipline and provide solutions to environmental problems for a larger community. This Conservation Grant has been established to honor and in memory of Late Mr. Prem Pradhan (Shrestha)’s dedicated hard work in Nepal’s social and Economic development by his daughter- Dr. Samridhi Shrestha, full time faculty, Grand Canyon University, former employee and a longtime friend of WCN.
Mr. Prem Bahadur Pradhan (Shrestha) was the former joint secretary to the Ministry of Land Reform & Management and also served as a Member Secretary to the Landless Peoples’ Problem Resolution Committee.
Born in Nepal, Mr. Pradhan was decorated with the Suprasiddha Gorkha Daksin Bahu for this exemplary work. He always believed in investing in knowledge. A naturalist by heart, Late Mr. Pradhan was always passionate about encouraging young individuals to become leaders in their field. WCN is happy to be instrumental in fulfilling Mr. Pradhan's aspirations to promote young scientists in Nepal.
Each year the Grant funds two finalists with a maximum of NPR 50,000/-.
