Karnali Climate Action Education Program: Sustainable Development through Conservation Education at Karnali ProvinceWildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN)’s “Karnali Climate Action Education Program” (KCAEP) for Karnali Province aims to address the current alarming situation caused by global warming through climate change education and to raise awareness of the issue among the younger generation. WCN has been working to increase "climate literacy" among young people in Nepal by educating them about mitigation and adaptation measures. WCN believes that by working together with different stake holders and relevant organizations can contribute to the larger solution for Climate Change in the province. WCN plans to work in areas of Waste Management, WASH, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Watershed Management, Urban Planning, Greenery Promotion and Green Economy in Karnali Province. WCN has initiated this by introducing Climate Change Education Program for schools of different municipalities in the province to educate students about climate change as it is a critical step in helping them understand the consequences of global warming.
