The Conference was inaugurated by Mr. Khagaraj Baral, Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Jhalak Ram Adhikari, Director General, Department of Environment, Mr. Tek Narayan Pandey, Deputy Director General, Centre for Education and Human Resource Development and Prof. Dr. Surya Ratna Gubhaju, Chair, WCN. Mr. Shyam Bajimaya, Former Director General, DNPWC and WCN board member addresed the guests and participants with his welcome speech while Dr. Bhupendra Devkota presented his keynote address at the Conference.
The conference was attended by over 100 young scientists from Nepal. More than 20 experts presented their expert work on the environmental problems of Nepal and role of education in its solutions. The conference was divided into Presentation session and Panel Discussion. During the closing ceremony top three posters on different environmental themes were also awarded by Mr. Jhalak Ram Adhikari, Director General, Department of Environment, Mr. Shyam Bajimaya, WCN Board Member and former Director General, DNPWC and Ms. Sanjeevani Yonzon, Director, WCN.
This Conference was organized by Nepal Prakriti Pathshala, a joint initiative of Wildlife Conservation Nepal and Danish Forestry Extension, in association with Centre for Education and Human Resource Development, Department of Environment and IUCN Nepal.
