YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, AND NATURE CONNECT
More than 20 youth participated in a Youth Environment Program training on May 23rd, 2022 learning about different facets of Environment Conservation, Wellness of body and mind, techniques for working with large groups, pedagogy principles, etc.
The program kicked off with the Introduction to Interactive Environmental Education of NPP, presented by Ms. Sanjeevani Y. Shrestha, Director, WCN. Mr. Rajeshwar Rijal, Nature Interpreter from WCN shortly shared about the Philosophy and Steps of NPP. Similarly, Mr. Subash Chandra Kharel, Senior Program Officer, gave a brief presentation on the Volunteer Guidelines of WCN. During the orientation program, volunteers were engaged in various hands-on activities related to School Garden such as Vermi Composting, Tray Gardening, Soil Quality Test, and Nature Journaling, facilitated by the WCN team.
Chosen participants will spend their time conducting various youth-centric programs, and in schools educating students from various schools about nature art, environmental ethics, and school gardens.
