Enhancing Collaboration for a Circular NepalThe Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport, in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN), organized a
validation roundtable on the Policy Diagnostic Report on Circular Economy in Nepal under the EU-funded Roots of Circularity project.
As an outcome of the policy scoping study, WCN had officially submitted the Policy Diagnostic Report on Circular Economy in Nepal, which served as the basis for discussion and validation during the roundtable.
The discussion brought together federal, provincial and local government representatives, line ministries, and private sector stakeholders to validate the findings of the scoping study, align provincial priorities, and identify opportunities for advancing circularity in Lumbini Province.
Participants reviewed the Circular Economy Transition Roadmap, discussed key policy and regulatory gaps, and validated tourism as a priority sector for Circularity, alongside areas such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The Ministry also emphasized the importance of circular economy approaches and expressed its commitment to integrating circularity in future sectoral guidelines.
The roundtable marked an important step toward stronger multi-stakeholder coordination and a practical roadmap for a green and circular Lumbini Province.
