Planet Nepal 2018

On November 24, 2018 Alliance Française de Katmandou’s Environmental Festival, Planet Nepal 2018 on the theme “Beat The Plastic Pollution” was held at Lalitpur metropolitan City Park where WCN hosted the Children’s Corner where children talked about the environment and discovered the importance of waste segregation. The festival included demonstration stalls showcasing the solutions to fight pollution thanks to various art per- formances and other exciting and amusing activities such as creating a plastic sculpture, face painting, calculating your carbon footprint, watching videos and many other immersive experiences. The program was organized by Alliance Française de Katmandou and supported by WCN NPP, Republica Federativa do Brasil, British Council, GIZ, Himalayan Climate Initiative, Khalisisi, World Health Organization, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd., Jamarko, UNESCO, TYRE Treasures, DOKO recyclers and FUN Photo Stations. Also present during the festival was Mr. Baudha Raj Niraula, Director, Centre for Education and Human Resource Development and Mr. Babu Ram Dhungana, Director, Education Department, Province no 5. Mr. Niraula and Mr. Dhungana along with Ms Pauline Vengeon, Director, AFK and Ms. Sanjeevani Yonzon, Director, WCN presented a token of appreciation to the students and teachers of the schools of Chitwan, Helambhu , Nuwakot and Lamjung who participated in the festival.
