WCN held an orientation program on the development of local curriculum for the schools of Budhanilkantha Municipality on May 27, 2018. The municipality is currently working on developing a framework on local curriculum focussing on different themes such as environment, natural and cultural heritage, religion, historical sites. The orientation was facilitated by WCN where Mr. Sita Ram Koirala, Under Secretary from NCED shed some light on different aspects of local curriculum. WCN's Director Sanjeevani Yonzon also shared WCN's experience from Rasuwa and Chitwan where it has recently revised the local curriculum developed in 2012 with NPP/WCN's technical support.
Mayor Mr. Uddhav Kharel along with chairs of 13 wards, experts and school principals and different stakeholders attended the program. The participants also identified different themes on which the local curriculum can be developed.
