Fifth National Eco Teachers Training

Fifth National Eco Teachers Training was conducted at Education training Center, Dipayal, Doti on March 7-9, 2017 where 70 Science and Environment Teachers from six different districts Achham, Bajura, Baitadi, Doti, Dadeldhura and Kailali participated. The training was focussed on how to strengthen and promote Interactive Environment Education and local curriculum on environment . The teachers participated on various hands on activities and also learnt about methodologies to promote interactive education. The training was inaugurated by Mr. Ananta Kumar Poudel, District Education Officer, Surkhet and Mr. Moti Lal Sharma, Senior Instructor, Education Training Center, Dipayal, Doti. The three day training which started in March 7, 2017 ended with a pledge taking ceremony. The Closing ceremony was marked by Mr. Lal Jung Chauhan, Regional Director, Far Western Development Region, Mr. Ananta Kumar Poudel, District Education Officer, Doti, Mr. Baudha Raj Niraula, Deputy Director, NCED and Mr. Moti Lal Sharma, Chief Instructor, ETC, Dipayal, Doti on March 9, 2017. The Teachers will be given the title of Eco Teacher after they complete the assigned responsibilities. The training is in collaboration with Department of Education, National Center for Education Development, Curriculum Development Center and WCN NPP (a joint initiative of Danish Forestry Extension and WCN). So far 317 teachers from five development regions have undergone this training and are actively involved in promoting hands on activities in their schools in their respective districts.
