WCN’s Bird Education program focuses on providing information on species of birds, their habitat, diet and behavior, threats to this species and importance of their conservation. Since its establishment, WCN has organized various outreach programs for bird conservation such as bird watching, workshop and trainings on identification of migratory and residential birds, photography competition, campaigns on environment and conservation issues related to bird species and scholarship programs. For children WCN has prepared resource materials full of activities where they can learn more about bird species, its structure, nests, food preference and many more. Formal and informal sessions with hands on activities, which is more focused on bird species found in urban area, is organized for them. Birds are important for balanced ecosystem and WCN believes that integrating educational component in bird conservation can create an environment for bird species and their habitat conservation.
