A Study on Law Relating to Wildlife Crime and Judicial Practices (With Special Reference to Kathmandu Valley)

ABSTRACT:
This research work is for the purpose of intellectual discourse. This effort is made under the initiatives of Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN), a noted NGO actively in the realm of the conservation of wildlife. This research report is made under the title of "A Study on Law Relating to Wildlife Crime and Judicial Practices (With Special Reference to Kathmandu Valley)". Wildlife crime comprises all those crimes accused upon the wildlife species. Basically it includes the illegal trade of trophies or specimens of endangered species of wildlife, crime involving native species, which are endangered, or conservation concerns and cruelty to and the persecution of wildlife species. Wildlife crime is a serious threat to the survival or conservation of many endangered species. In other words it lucidly threatens bio-diversity as well as environmental protection and ecological balance. The damages environmental made by wildlife crimes are really irreparable. Environmental protection, preservation of bio-diversity and maintenance of ecological balance is global concern. Thus, the control of wildlife crime is the serious challenge of present day world.
