More than 500 representatives from IUCN\'s membership, commissions, secretariat, council, donors and partners in Asia gathered for the 5th IUCN Asia Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) in Incheon, Republic of Korea from September 27-30, 2011. The Asia RCF was co hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea and the IUCN National Committe of members in Korea. Wildife Conservation Nepal (WCN) along with other NNC members from Nepal also participated in the RCF. Greening Asia\'s growth and nature based solution to address the climate change complexities were the key messages of the 5th Asia RCF. The forum was formally opened by Ms. Julia Marton - Lefèvre, Director General of IUCN. Other key speakers who addressed the opening ceremony were Hongkoo Lee, Chairman of the Korean Organizing Committee (KOC) for 2012, Mr. Keun-Min Woo,governor of Jeju, Dr. Soogil Young, Chairman of presidential Committee on Green Growth, Prof Youngbae Suh, Chair of the IUCN National Committee of members Along with various plenary sessions and side newss from IUCN members on their effors in conservation, RCF was successful in laying the foundation for the upcoming World Conservation Congress to be held in Jeju Island in 2012.
